The Abbey is a residential development consisting of the rehabilitation of the historic H. Alden Smith House and adjacent new construction, which together created 120 new rental dwellings and related amenity spaces. Located in the Loring Park Neighborhood, the project consists of 5-levels of housing with 1-level of below-grade parking. The historic mansion was given a “1920’s art deco” finish with its renovation, which theme was carried through the new construction.

Additionally, such value-add projects that are considered mid-cap in size (e.g. $10 to $50 million) inherently draw interest from fewer buyers, allowing well capitalized and experienced real estate investors to act with fewer competitors.
